I wanted to say something important in my first ever Paper is Gold blog post. I wanted to set the trend for future thoughts and ideas I send out to the world. I wanted to give you guys something to make you smile. So I’ve decided to share with you how I find smiles in my days – in my sunshine filled days, days laughing with my toddler, sore-muscle days, days on the mountain snowboarding, yucky sick days, days spent in our garden, rainy days with a book, days filled with heartache, wonderful happy birthdays, super stressful days, days baking in the kitchen, and normal everydays…
I am grateful.
Though some days are certainly more challenging than others, I try my darndest to remind myself why I am so grateful. I am grateful for my husband. He is my best friend, my cheerleader, and the best father in the world. He encourages me to be creative and gives me time to work while he plays with our daughter. I am grateful for my little girl. She is so much more than I could have imagined. She has brought so much sunshine to my life, I am forever changed. I see things differently because of her, and I am grateful. I am grateful for our beautiful little home. This little mid century modern is truly my dream house, and our DIY projects make it even more special to me. I am grateful for my dad (who has passed), my amazing neighbors and friends, and my mom (who is always willing to help).
Years ago, I didn’t think my life was a fairytale, but after changing my mindset and refocusing my thoughts, I can’t help but smile…
Today is a new day. And I am grateful.
